OUR STORY

30 Years on the Dalmatian Coast

Platanus was founded in 1992 in Dubrovnik as a local destination management company, built on the belief that travellers deserve reliable, honest transport from the moment they land.

Over three decades we have grown from a single-city agency into Croatia’s most trusted airport shuttle operator, holding official licences for both Split Airport (SPU) and Dubrovnik Airport (DBV) — the two busiest airports on the Dalmatian coast.

Today we operate a fleet of 15+ licensed and maintained vehicles, carry thousands of passengers every season, and run every single day of the year — from the first flight in the morning to the last one at night.

We don't just drive passengers from A to B. We make sure the first and last impression of Croatia is a good one.

1992

Founded in Dubrovnik

Platanus established as a local travel agency and DMC in Dubrovnik, offering transfers and travel services along the Dalmatian coast.

2000s

Dubrovnik Airport Shuttle Licence

Awarded official licensed operator status for Dubrovnik Airport (DBV), establishing the first scheduled shuttle bus service.

2010s

Fleet Expansion & Online Booking

Fleet grows to 10+ vehicles. Online booking introduced. Service extended to run 24/7 year-round in line with flight schedules.

2020s

Split Airport Licence

Platanus awarded official shuttle operator licence for Split Airport (SPU), becoming the only operator holding licences for both major Dalmatian airports.
